I had an Ipod and all my music is on itunes.. most of it is MP3... So will other mp3 players work with itunes? I have been looking at the new sony walkmans and the samsung touch mp3 players... they would work with itunes right?
What MP3 Players are Compatible with Itunes?
iTunes will not recognize other mp3 players, even if all the music is in mp3 format.
The iTunes was created as the interface between your computer and iPod only.
It's not just Apple that operates like this. The other manufacturers are very proprietary with their own players and gambled that their format would be more widely accepted than iTunes. They were wrong
YOu can still take all your data (mp3 files) and move them to whatever software the other mp3 player requires, except AAC files and specifically iTunes purchased AAC files which won't be able to convert via the protection.
Reply:the only ones that i know of are ipods and the new creative zen
Reply:no itunes is for ipods but i have herd that the Sony A800 series is compatible with it but im not sure
but other than that i dont think so
Reply:A few MP3 players will interface with iTunes. Be warned, though, you can't copy iTunes-store bought files to anything other than an iPod unless it is in the iTunes Plus format. This is because of the DRM (digital rights managment) that is on the files.
Search google with the specific model number of the player your interested in to see if users report success using iTunes with the player.
Good luck! :)
