I was wondering if there was an mp3 player that used a portable flash device as its means of storage? As an example: You can take any pen flash drive and plug it into the mp3 player and play songs off the flash drive.
So i have a flash drive that is 4GB and want to use it as an MP3 player.

MP3 Player Broken.?
I was copying music to my mp3 player when i got a weird error that said perimeter incorrect, something like this happened before so i decided to delete the music and format the mp3 player again. (Its a samsung YP-F1) I open the firmware software updater and choose format, and it starts but halfway through while it is formating the boot file it says and error has occured then stopped formatting. I tried it again and it got further but it got the same error again. So i tried again and it wouldnt start. Now altogether the mp3 player wont start, and the computer wont even recognize that im pluggin it in. HEEEEEEEEEEEELPPPPPPPP

if its new Return it, it its kinda new call samsung. you should call samsung anyway they could probably help you more than anyone else on Yahoo can. If none of these things work you will have to buy a new MP3 player ( recommed ipods becuase Apple is know for award winning service) and even after the warrenty is up they will still help you

it depends on how much money you have, how much you like music and what kind of cell phone you have. The first one isn't a major problem. You can find a pretty basic mp3 for about $50, but if you don't like music that much, than why bother? Plus, if you already have an expensive cell phone where you can download songs there, than why not use the money buying songs rather than wasting it on another thing to keep track of?

MP3 Player earphones replacement?
OK, so I have this generic MP3 player, it works really well for me, and it came with this really awesome set of earphones/earbuds/whatever-you-wanna-cal... Now, unfortunately, the earphones are starting to sound awful, buzzing and fuzzy in one ear. I want to buy a replacement set. Seems easy, right? I don't know what to call them though... what makes them so great is two features. First, it has a little clip that attaches the mp3 player to a little ring further down the cord, so that if you were to dangle the mp3 player by the earphone cords, it wouldn't pull the little plug out of the player. Second, it has a little bead that slides up and down, which allows you to wear the whole thing as a necklace and not worry about the little plug letting go and dropping the whole thing. What on earth do I call that, am I describing it effectively, and where do I find one?? Thanks, if anyone knows.

Prevent MP3 to be copied into harddisk?
I'm teacher, who maintain 50 multimedia computers at school. The operating system is Windows XP SP2. My students often bring MP3 CD from their home, and then copy the MP3 files into harddisk, that make harddisk full. My question: How to prevent MP3 files (or WMA, mpeg, etc) to be copied into harddisk? Or at least students can copy it, but will be deleted on the next system reboot (but only MP3 files, other files are not deleted).
Any idea?

Many of the songs I've bought on the Internet come with a license which prevents me from downloading them to my MP3 player. I've seen some MP3 players which are 'DRM capable.'
Will a DRM capable MP3 player accept the licensed files?

My fiancee has a DEH 1400 Pioneer CD player in his car. I just bought him a Sansa Mp3 player. His CD player apparently doesnt have an AUX to connect the Mp3 player to so my question is... Ok, I just bought an mp3 player from circuitcity. It is Sansa e250 series and looks great so far. It is charging right now. To get to the point, the lady at circuitcity told me that if I downloaded itunes music and videos to my mp3 player(not ipod) that it would corrupt my files on my mp3 player. I guess this is because itunes suspects that if its not an ipod, it must be a virus. Is this true? Someone please shed some light on this topic. Thanks in advance for any help. I appreciate all suggestions and answers.

Yes, I have an MP3 player, (not ipod, but close) and I was wondering, what is a good site I can go to, or program I can download, to convert audio and wav files into mp3's? B/c arent mp3's like a lot smaller file size so i can fit like 1000 songs on there?

I use iTunes and it converts to mp3. Mp3's are not neccisarilly the smallest format, but they are the most compatible. I have all my files as mp3.
Reply:The Google search term is audio transcoder. Mediacoder may be what you want. dBpoweramp may also be useful. There's other tools out there that can do this as well.

Which mp3 player???? urgent help needed.?
Am buying my partner his birthday gift tonight (ive bought him two tshirts already) and want to get him an mp3 player. I was deliberating between a cheap ipod I saw but it was refurbished and a Phillips 2gb one from target which would have warranty.. since then I have found a “creative zen wav 2gb mp3 %26amp; video player with built in speakers” for $108.95 with 12 months manufacturers warranty. I don’t know what warranty the Phillips one had but its $119.00 and is 2gb also (without built in speakers)
So my question to you/- if you had the choice would you chose

There isn't a difference, an iPod is an MP3 player. A video iPod is an mp4 player. The only difference is the price and the fact that after 2 or 3 years the battery dies and you have to buy a new one or send it back to Apple to get it replaced, which costs $$$. I've also heard that iPods have issues with some files.
If all you want is something to play music on, get an mp3 player that uses AAA or AA batteries and get rechargeables. A player that uses memory cards is a plus too, because then you can have any number of them and increase your storage.

Ok, i am returning my sandisk sansa 4gb back to bestbuy and geting a different mp3 player. The problem i had was the sansa could not drag and drop songs into the mp3 player but you had to sync it. (the version at bestbuy.com, it does not have drag and drop).
It would ghave been ok to sync but every song i wanted to sync(songs from my cd's and songs from online like from limewire) would not work because they where not lisensed and could not figure out how to fix that problem, i tryed EVERYTHING!!!!! i could think of. Thats why i dont want the sansa.
Now i want to get possable a ipod gen2, samsung t10, or some other brand like microsoft or creative. Im not sure yet.

I-pods are not that great really. You cannot play wma files on them like you can with many other MP3 players. I recommend Creative Zen.

Reply:what u should do is convert the movie into a different file like mp4 or smthing to make it smaller... i dont think that mp3 player can read the regular movie file types like avi, mpeg... try using ur nero program... theres a part there where u can convert them or u can find a site where u can download a converter... hope this helped! :)

Zen mp3 are excellent quality, much better than iPod. If you like a compact, cute mp3, you should get the zen v. I think it's the best zen. But the micro and vision are also very good, but it depends on what you are looking for. To view photos, a micro is good. For movies and videos, get the vision m. For just music, get the zen v. If you want a gig or two more space for music, then you may consider a neeon, but I don't like it that much becuse the screen isn't that good.

Hello, I have a 512MB MP3 player. I need to download songs on it. I will love if the songs I buy are free but I am willing to pay for them. I really like Linkin Park and I think their new album, Minutes to Midnight is pretty awesome. And also last question, I have a PSP and I have both Linkin Park previous albums, Meteora and Hybrid Theory. Can I transfer them to my computer then to my MP3 player? my son has just been given an mp3/mp4 player the problem is i dont know who makes it. it definatley is mp4 because it has a folder inside for video. it looks the same as apples ipod but is just a replica with a 4gb drive, i checked the firmware version and in their it say's LG mp3 player but LG dont list it. what i want is a user manual and possibly some software if need be. i uploaded music to it no problem but when i tried video it went in but did'nt play even though it was in the right format. if you look at the link below thier is a pic of what it looks like to give you a better idea. any help appreciated, cheers.

now how did you convert the video? if you are absolutely sure that the video is converted properly, all you should have to do is click and drag the video folder to the player icon on your computer. make sure your conversion went thro if you converted yourself and try to play the file back on your computer. if it doesnt playback then there was more than likely an error with the conversion process and you will have to reconvert.

There's this mp3 player you see...?
I saw this black 2GB mp3 player at a store yesterday. It was about palm-sized; it's features included video, music, photos, and voice recording. It's entire front face was covered with the screen, and the buttons were all along the side. Under the screen, there was the word : Diamond. Diamond was also written on the packaging, so I assumed that's its brand name.
I came home and tried googling "diamond 2GB mp3 player" though, and got no relevant results. The only mp3 player I could find by the brand "diamond" was...not the one I saw. I google-imaged it too; still no results.
So the thing is - I can't find this mp3 player anywhere else!! And I want to read up a bit on it, see some testimonials maybe, see if it's any good, but there's no info on it.
So I need to know what its called! If anyone has any idea what the actual name of this mp3 player is, PLEASE let me know.

Mp3 player freezes??
OK. I have a Craig mp3 player problem. The model is a 256mb. I recently downloaded a few songs on it and all of a sudden when I try to listen to it. It will play for like a minute and then start freezing and i cant turn it off without taking the batteries out. Do i have to reset the whole mp3 player and start from scratch or is there a way to take the freezing out of the mp3 player?? I need help!!

MP3 Problem?
I have just downloaded a song from Bearshare and put it into my MP3. It is a 1G Creative V100, look it up on Google Images. The song is in Library A and and English folder.The English folder has three more folders inside and the song is in one of them. When I turn on the MP3, only one folder appears. I can't find the other two folders. I check it on the computer and the folders are there but not the MP3. I really need help and please tell me what's wrong.

Mp3 player problem, i've been trying to add tracks to my creative zen v plus, with disaster?
i don't have the cd, and my pc is vista, i've downloaded the patches, from creatives website, tried installing them, but it says the error message, something like there is no support product on this system, i don't have the cd, does that mean i can't add songs to my mp3, i saw the sony mp3 walkman, which is the equivilant to the v pus, i am thinking about getting it, should i, does anyone now how i can add tracks to my v plus and please don't come up with stupid answers, i've tried everything, from dragging and dropping to installing the downloads with the player plugged into the computer, formatting the mp3 player, i now have no songs on my v plus, so i can't use it cos it's useless

How do I sync my files to my mp3 player. I have an office depot OD-128MP3W mp3 player given to me by someone and I can't see to sync the files. I have windows XP and I tried to sync the files to windows media 11 and I receive and error message saying "Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted." What could be the problem? I did recently download windows media 11 from a previous version; could that be it? This MP3 player does not come with any detailed directions and the software is for Windows 98 only. Any help is appreciated; thanks.

That error your seeing there isn't related back to the mp3 player, do you see the same message when you just go to play the tracks in your media player also? Try pressing F3 than pressin ok on the box that pops up and it will research and readd any tracks into your media player for you, do that then try the synching again.

Some other great mp3 players I recommend are SanDisk Sansa e200 series and Creative ones because they play videos, have the ability to look at photos, FM radio and voice recording. One thing you don't want to do: Blend with the usual. Try another thing. Also, some mp3 players have memory card slots to increase its memory.

Samsung Mp3 Help!!!?
My Samsung player's model is YP-K5JQBY and when I connect it to my computer, it doesn't get noticed by the computer. This means that even though it says it's being charged on my MP3 Player, it actually isn't.

I have a Sandisk Sansa E280 Mp3 player which I got for Christmas. I'm trying to use rhapsody to get my music, and pay a monthly fee. When I try to put songs on my Mp3 player it says that my Mp3 player is not a subscription device. Can I do anything about that?

no.. the files are protected... usually companies have a service for subscription files but ur player doesnt... i have a samsugn p2, and it does so itz coool... its usually the firmware in the player which allows it.

From limewire, I just drag my music over into Window's Media Player. Then you shouldn't have any problem loading it from there.

I don't know of any players with screens that operate on batteries like that. The Sandisk Sansa players do have user replaceable batteries, but you still have to charge them with a USB cable or a wall outlet adapter. There are some kids mp3 players that do take AA or AAA batteries, but I don't know much about them. The only one I've actually seen is the Sandisk Sansa Shaker, which is kinda fun, but has no screen. I believe it takes 2 AA batteries though and works with memory cards. Your best bet is probably to get a wall adapter to charge your player, other wise, I have never seen a player with a screen that takes those batteries. If you're looking for a player with great battery life, take a look at the Sony players. They are rated for 33 hours of battery life, have very nice screens, excellent sound quality, come with nice ear buds, and are easy to use. Check out the NWZA810 series which is avaliable in 2, 4, and 8 GB sizes, has a color screen, and supports audio and video playback. Or, the Sandisk players are nice and you can replace the battery yourself. They look very similar to cell phone batteries, and I've seen them for around $20. I personally have the Sansa e280, which has 8GB of built in memory, plus a micro SD expansion slot for additional memory. The series also comes in 2, 4, and 6 GB sizes. They also have a player called the Sansa View which comes in 8, 16 and 32 GB sizes and supports more video formats. Hope that helps some.

MP3 player. What kind should I get.?
I want a mp3 player with a lot of space on it, but don't want to pay a ton of money. I'm looking at maybe a Zune with 30 gb or 80 gb. My one gig isn't holding enough. Are these good mp3 players for videos downloaded off of google and for both unprotected and some protected songs? A smaller thing, but does it have a radio tuner? If anyone knows I would like to help me find out if this is the mp3 player I need for my new needs.

So far the only site that I have found where I can purchase a single mp3 without having to put 20 bux on some stupid account with the site, is amazon.com. Okay, so I'm trying to put songs onto my friend's mp3 player. I plugged it into the computer, the mp3 player says that you can put songs on it. The problem is: every time I try to paste them, it says that the mp3 player isn't plugged in.

Hey. I recently received a Spi MP3 (1.8GB) player as a gift. I like it...but I encountered a problem/glitch. I was synching files onto the player and it was all going ok up until a certain problem arose. I deleted some files to make more room, and when I went to sync the other files, it wasn't cooperating properly so I canceled. Anyway, at the time of said synching, I had 1GB left, but after that it said I had no more room. It confused me, and I even deleted all of the other files to find the source. Instead of fixing/discovering the problem, every time I go to sync something, it (the media player) says I only have room for 1GB, despite not having anymore files left on the MP3 player. So, I can only have 1GB worth of files on my MP3 player. I have no idea why it's acting this way. So, any help would be very much appreciated...

I have been begging my mom if she can buy me a mp3 player, and a month later she said okay and she bought it 4 me...And i had it for lyk a month and a half and she reminded me to not take it to school, but in the morning i saw my mp3 player in my backpack and i just listened to it in the bus...Later in 7th period i found it missing in my backpack, but i had my mp3 player periods1-6 and i don't know who stole it. And my mom is gonna kill me if she found it missing not kill kill but u know what i mean

I have a question about MP3's: what does it mean to "synchronize" an MP3 tune? What if you want to burn the song to CD and you get a "cannot synchronize" message? I found some songs from one of my favorite fantasy movies in MP3 format, and want to burn the songs to CD using Windows Media Player, but I need to synchronize them first. How do I do that?

I am looking at MP3 players for the children for Christmas. I have problems with some of the lingo. If I copy my files that I currently have I need to know what the difference is. The files are on a CD and when I open them I get the Windows Media Player icon. Are these considered MP3’s? If not how do I convert them? Do I need to convert them? In the past I remember transferring files to a MP3 player with the Windows Media icon. But they seem to have taken up a lot of space on the player. Thus reducing the amount of music I could load on the player.

ok, i just got an mp3 player and i tried downloading songs onto it from cd's i burned off of limewire but the qualit on the mp3 player is bad. how can i fix this? if i can't, is there any way to delete all the songs of the mp3 player and clear the memory? taking the battery out didn't work and the manual sucks...

I assume its not the qulaity of the mp3 player, its probably the quality of the songs. Try and go download other songs,but not from the same people you download them from. There should be a way to deleted songs off your mp3 player. If there is a website or toll free number, try it.

I have tried myspaceimagecodes.com, filexoom.com, ripway.com, etc.... They all use quicktime and when I try to play them quicktime won't play for me. I'm not sure why because I have quicktime on my computer. My daughter wants a MP3 player. Her mobile phone is a bit long in the tooth as well. I have been looking and it appears that you can get a mobile phone that will also do what a MP3 player does for not much more than the MP3. Is there a down side to it ? does it use your phone credit up listening to the music or watching video clips. She is on "pay as you go" so is this still compatable? Reply:There are hundreds of makes of mobiles with mp3, and no it doesn'r charge anything, obviusly. you download songs from a UsB lead on your computer, you you can get mp3 and mp4 phones for under a tenner these days, personally i think a samsung d600 or higher specification or a sony ericson walkman phone are good.

MP3 player speakers?
I have a sansa mp3 player and bought some speakers today with a docking station so I could listen to my player w/o headphones. I knew when I bought it that it was mainly for IPODs but it allows other mp3 players to work with it with a "line in" jack. I understand what that means, but I have no idea how to connect my mp3 player to the line in jack.

You should have a headphone jack on our mp3 player and a headphone jack on the speakers. The speakers should have came with a speaker cable with a male mini-jack on both ends. If you don't have such a cable, then you can purchase one from an electronic store like a Radio Shack.
It might help if you mention the brand and model of your speakers.

ok, i just got an mp3 player and i tried downloading songs onto it from cd's i burned off of limewire but the qualit on the mp3 player is bad. how can i fix this? if i can't, is there any way to delete all the songs of the mp3 player and clear the memory? taking the battery out didn't work and the manual sucks...

I assume its not the qulaity of the mp3 player, its probably the quality of the songs. Try and go download other songs,but not from the same people you download them from. There should be a way to deleted songs off your mp3 player. If there is a website or toll free number, try it.

MP3 Player Issue?
I have a MATSUI MP3 PLAYER. When I 'drag' my music album files into it from my desktop, say 10 of them, rather than having 10 sub folders where I can select a particular album to play, I have a 'total' number of tracks on my MP3 screen, say 150. This means I have to press the forward button furiously to reach tracks of an album towards the high end of the 150 tracks, rather tahn be able to select an album with, say 12 tracks. Can anyone help me to use my Windows Media Player, or alternative, to reate 'albums' to sync onto the MP3, rather than a list of 12 or so tracks. Help me please!

Reply:Did you try dragging folders instead of individual tracks. If they're not in folders already, put them in folders. If you don't know how to make a folder, just right click in the blank space and go to "new folder". After that, drag some files into it, and drag it to your mp3 player.
If your mp3 player still wants to treat them as individual tracks, try finding an option where you can skip to a different folder.

Mp3 songs on my dvd player (mp3 capable)?
my dvd player can read mp3 songs but half of them bug, at some points the sound "jumps", it can skip 10 sec of a song.. etc.... how come some songs work perfectly but others don't.. is there a kind of mp3 that doesn't work well.. or do i need a special bitrate?? (my dvd player is not broken because i saw the same problem with a lot of other dvd players!!)

then of course when the pro is downloaded delete the free version. if you dont want to go through all the work the free version should be good too.

MP3 versus Ipod?
I'm debating about buying a MP3 player or an Ipod but the impression I'm getting is non-Ipod MP3 players are more flexible for choosing your source of music (Napster, your own CD's) whereas you are locked with I-tunes with I-pods. Same thing with Zune (having to use the company's proprietary music store.) Any thoughts on which is the best value for an MP3 player? Thanks!

Creative Labs MP3s are great. I had a Zen Nano Plus 1GB and it worked great. Next bought a Zen Micro 6GB on eBay for $100 used. The 6 GB is loads of memory and you won't need more if your just doing music. I have Napster and really like it.
There may be a special at Amazon now for Nano Plus - full price is like $135 at Wal Mart.
Ipods are trendy if you must have the "in" toy but get you locked into their buying system.

After concluding my research i decided my best buy would be a MP3 so i bought a Creative Zen nano 1 GB i havent even filled it up w/ songs! They are a lot more flexible when it comes to music %26amp; they dont have a lithium ion battery which is a rechargable battery %26amp; the battery goes dead after a while. Then you would have to buy a whole other battery , the cheapest is $150 versus a MP3 which runs on a AAA battery! so after all the mp3 would deffinately be your besdt choice for several reasons!
