When I bought my first MP3 player, for my wife, a couple of years ago, (a Creative Labs MUVO), I was impressed that you could save music in folders, and play the contents of a particular folder. However, I have bought several more MP3 players since, and all of them ignore folders and jumble up all the tracks that are stored. That may be fine for music, but I save a lot of 'Spoken word' cds, such as stories for my young son, whilst on long journeys. Can anyone recommend an MP3 player that respects the user's folders? Do the Creative Muvo models still do this? Thanks.
MP3 player question?
yes creative muvo can still do this... creative Zen does it too... ipod is just too expensive for some of us
Reply:the problems could be with the settings. i know on the side of the Sony Walkmans (one of the ones thats about as big around as a volume dial on a big stereo system) theres a switch on the side (im looking at the thing right now) but theres a switch on the side that lets you pick what u wanna lay. hold, folder, or all. some have the playback option to lay JUST one folder, shuffle the contents of a folder, play all on the player itself in the order from first to last, or shuffle all the folders together. heres a pic of the one that i have and it does all that and more. its awesome.

mine kinda looks like that. cept its black. really good piece of equiptment. i have to ride the bus everyday and i have to carry alot of books with me. its easier to carry that thing than say, a CD player or an iPod.
Reply:Just eliminate all problems and get an iPod with iTunes
Reply:If you want to avoid forking out a fortune on iPods and stuff, check out eBay for MP4 players. They look just like iPod nanos but do an awful lot more. They are only about £30 and can stores at least a gigabyte of data. And you can direstly access the folders in the menu. I bought one myself and am really plaesed with it.
Reply:I have recently bought a Sony NW-E005 MP3 Player. It organises music into folders so long as they have the album information attached to them (which the software that comes with the player, SonicStage, downloads from the internet.)
The player itself is excellent, but Sony's software is a bit dodgy
Reply:alot of my friends have creative mp3 players and i know for a fact that they all work well and the music stays neatly organized in folders. that would probably be your best option.
