ok so i was puttin more songs into my MP3 and than i pressed sufle and it said deletin all files and i was scared it was goin to delete my songs on my M3 so i removed the USB cord connected to the MP3 and than i couldnt turn my MP3 off or d anything. so i removed the batteries and when i turned it on there was no songs in it :(
and then i tried puttin my songs back in and i did get them back and when i pressed play it just froze. did i break my MP3?
Is my MP3 broken? :'(?
I think you did.
Reply:yea i think so. :/
Reply:yes you probably did
but try formating it
by pluging it in and in my computer there should be an icon for the player and if not then something that identifies it as being an mp3 player
then you could left click on it and select format or you can double click and if something else comes up then left click and select format

Problems playing MP3's in WMP11 on Windows Vista?
I'm using Windows Vista, and I'm not sure if I need a special MP3 codec or something because WMP11 just doesn't play ANY mp3 files - I don't see why I would need a codec because all my MP3's play fine in WinAmp. Movies play fine in WMP11, but when I click an MP3, it does nothing. Anyone have a solution or workaround for this? Yeah I could just use WinAmp, but WMP11's organization of the music files far surpasses WinAmp's.

You should download the codec directly from microsoft web site. If you don't know how to download and install the codec, use your winamp fro playing mp3 files.

Questions on mp3 players and iriver?
I am looking to get an MP3 player, and I was wondering if anyone would recommend the iRiver H10 20GB (http://www.amazon.com/iriver-h10-player-... ? Also, would this MP3 player be able to use files off of Limewire?
How many songs would you estimate a 20GB MP3 player to hold? Any other suggestions on a good MP3 player under $150? Thanks =]!
Questions on mp3 players and iriver?
I have an iriver H10 20gb. I like it. It can hold about 5100 songs assuming that all songs are 4mb, but it could probably hold more since the file size of songs tend to differ. I have about 500 songs right now and I've only used about 2 gigs. And yes it can use files off of limewire. It also holds text files and photos. It has a radio as well.
If you don't need that much space you might want to get the h10 5 gig because those have removable/replaceable batteries.

It just says MP3 Audio and when you turn it on it says Ice Audio, so i need to know how to put music on this thing and i can't download limewire because i'm on a guest account so i pretty much can't download anything and i don't have a credit card so i can't buy music from i tunes. But some of my friends told me that i can put music i have from CD's i bought and put it on my Mp3 but i really don't get that! Can someone please help me?
I Need MP3 Help?
It's really easy to add music from cds that you currently own - you just need to use a program like Windows Media Player (WMP). (If you don't already have it on your computer, you can download a free/legal version from download.com).
All you have to do is stick the CD into the CD-ROM drive. A window may pop up asking you what action you want to take - you can select "rip music to computer." If a window doesn't pop up, not a problem - just go into WMP and select the Rip tab (depending on what version of WMP you have, it should be towards the top). When you click on the rip tab, it should take you to a screen where it shows all of the tracks on your CD. It may or may not have the information from the CD. If it doesn't have the song information, you should be able to search for the CD information somewhere on that page. It's important to have song/album information so that it will show up on your mp3 player later.
After the songs have finished ripping, you can go to the My Library tab and they should all be there . . . you can now listen to this music on your computer without actually using the CD (that's the cool part). You can add music to your mp3 player by highlighting music (it helps if you click the first track, hold the shift button, then click the last track - that will highlight all of the tracks. Right-click a highlighted area and select "Add to - Sync list." Then you just need to go to the Sync tab, connect your mp3 player, and press sync.
Just repeat the whole process for every CD you want on your mp3 player. Hopefully most of your CDs will not have copy-management stuff on them, otherwise it's going to be difficult/impossible to get them on your mp3 player (trust me, you'll know if it has copy-management software because the music will be distorted or will not rip to your computer at all).
If you still need help, see if your friends know how to transfer music.
Good luck.
Reply:You can find additional help by going to WMP help (go to the help pulldown menu). Go to the Index tab and type in "music" - then go down to "ripping from CDs" - you can also learn more about how to transfer music to the mp3 player (also known as "syncing") by typing in "sync list." Report It

Mp3 Suite software issues-Will not honor their 100% satisfaction guarantee.?
I signed up for Mp3 Suite for $34.44-Unlimited Access. When I went to download their software an Internet Explorer Security Warning popped up stating "The publisher could not be verified". I immediately contacted customer service stating that I wasn't comfortable downloading their software and wanted my money back. I got a response from 'Heather" several hours later basically stating "it was no big deal" and to "continue with the download". I re-stated that I still wasn't comfortable downloading their software and usinging their service and wanted a refund immediately. All I have gotten since is DEAD AIR. I have sent and re-sent messages to no avail. I paid thru paypal w/ my checking acct. I want to know the best way to go about getting my money back and everywhere I can file claims/send warnings about this company. They have an "Unconditional 60 Day Money Back Guarantee-No Questions Asked" and will not honor it. I am TICKED!!
Mp3 Suite software issues-Will not honor their 100% satisfaction guarantee.?
What this warning means is that when you try to run the file Windows is warning you that that kind of file can potentially contain a virus, as it is a program (a .exe file), and that is generally the kind of file viruses are, along with every other program on your computer. Very few programs are signed because it costs money to do so, so, as long as you have up to date anti-virus and trust the company, you are perfectly safe. The warning is no big deal whatsoever. Ignore it. It will popup whenever you try to run a program after downloading it with internet explorer. Continue as before.

Locked music files on my MP3???
I got my MP3 about a year back, and put all my music onto it via my laptop. About 6 months after, I sold my latop, so i wiped the hardrive clean (deleted everything), without realising that the music files were on there.
Now my mp3 has broken, i want to get the music onto my new computer so that i can get a refund for my mp3 and still have my music, however when i tried to transfer, it said that the music was locked by the laptop i put the music on my mp3 with. Is there a way to retrieve my music so i can put it onto a new mp3?
It's a sony mp3, and the music is in ATRAC format. can i transfer to a cd, or should i change the format..etc.....any ideas please?!

I have MP3 files on my laptop. How do I burn them into MP3 disks for the player?
When burning the MP3 files with the Windows Media Player the MP3 were converted and created a CD Audio disk, but I do want MP3 CDs.
I have MP3 files on my laptop. How do I burn them into MP3 disks for the player?
Use a cd burner software like Nero or Roxia and burn them to an audio MP3 disk, If you burn them by just transfering them to a data disk they will not play on most players and the few that will play them won't read the ID3 tags.
Reply:uae nero software
Reply:Don't burn them using Windows Media Player. Look for the files in My Documents (or wherever they are), right click on them, then choose Send To -%26gt; CD-RW drive (D:) or whatever letter your CD writer drive is. Then open the directory for the drive and click "write these files to CD" on the left hand side.

How do you get an MP3 player to play the tracks in the order you want them?
I have Philips SA1100/37 MP3 player and use it with Windows Media Player 11. When I sync the tracks that I rip from a CD, instead of the tracks being on the MP3 player in the order that they were on the CD they are scrambled and don't play in the order they were in the CD. If I sync more than one CD onto the MP3 player, the tracks of the different CDs are mixed together instead of each CD being played separately and in order. These are inspirational type CDs, not music CDs, so having the tracks in the right order is very important to making any sense out of listening to them. The User Manual for the MP3 player mentions putting the CDs into folders. It seems to me that to have each CD as a separate folder on the MP3 player would be a good idea, but I can't see any way in the MP3 player or the Windows Media player to do that. Can anyone help me? Everything I see on the Windows Media Player Help and Website don't tell me anything.
How do you get an MP3 player to play the tracks in the order you want them?
ok i had the same prob, either go into the my computer section of your computer, then click on the philips, make a new folder you the artists or cd's and put the number of the song in front, you can organize your music like that and skip through the folders, or you can try to get used to the being in alphabetical order like it should be putting them in. hope i helped.
Reply:Make a playlist.
Then make sure that the random/shuffle play option is off on your mp3 player.

Ipod or MP3?
I'm not sure if I want a small Ipod or mp3... Does anybody know what would last longer? And I heard that an mp3 can only download mp3 files but an Ipod can download mp3 and wma files. Is this true? And can I use Limewire to download songs to use in my music player? And is the Shuffle the Ipod without a screen or with? And whats a Nano? Please help me?
Ipod or MP3?
I would recommend an iPod Nano. (I'll talk about the different iPods in a sec, but bear with me here :P).
Apple has done a great job of really streamlining the whole process between buying music (if you wanted to buy it), getting music into your iTunes Library, and then syncing all of that seamlessly with the iPod. It's really a great and easy way for people to listen to their music.
I'm not sure whether or not iTunes (the software on your computer that the iPod interacts with) supports wma files. If I recall, I've heard some people say that some files do work, while others just don't.
You can use Limewire to download music and Limewire has very good support for transferring that music into iTunes automatically. Just remember, most of the songs you would download from Limewire would be illegal *wink wink*.
Comparing the different iPods, the shuffle is not really that great of an option. It doesn't have a screen so you wouldn't be able to choose what song you want to listen to, which I wouldn't be able to put up with. I've heard that some people love their shuffles though, and of course I've never tried one, so who knows, maybe I would actually like the thing. The nano's are more like the younger siblings of the full size iPods. It's smaller and lighter, with a smaller screen, and less storage space. But they're cheaper! The nano's do everything the current full size iPods do except for video playback.
I would say that overall, you would be much more satisfied with an iPod Nano over an mp3 player.
I hope I could be of some help!

Sansa e280 - MP3 player playing with car stereo?
I have recently purchased Sansa e280 - 8GB MP3 player and it plays well. I wish to play this MP3 player's songs through my car stereo so that whenever I am driving I have more selection of songs. My question is -
a) is it possible to play MP3 player through car stereo ? how should I do it ?
b) I am not sure but I believe if I get cassette adapter (the one which takes portable CD player output through output jack into cassette adapter. The cassette adapter then to be inserted into car audio cassette player and play it. Is this possible or it will damage my Sansa MP3 player by impedence mismatch ?
Really appreciate any input from experience users.

the first thing i had is the cassette adapter which worked great now a days there is something called fm transmitter which runs about $30 where u can connect ur sansa into the fm tranmitter and select a preset on it then on ur car stereo find the preset with the scan button or watever ur preset is set to go to that station
Reply:you can hook it up to an amplifier to your speakers, you need a y connector cable to go to your ipod stereo output, then to your amp inputs, its that easy now your ipod is a stereo for really cheap if you have a amp

Problem with MP3 player?
My Coby MP3/CD/Cassette/Player/recorder initially played MP3 cds fine. Now it just refuses to play an MP3 CD. I get the message 'No Disc' when I insert an MP3 disc (CD burned in my computer). It is playing the normal CDs ok. Is there anything that can be done to fix the problem?
Problem with MP3 player?
The problem is in the mp3 dc. If they are just even a bit scratched then it will not play them. Also you could have added a non music mp3 file to the disk, if you it will not play.

MIDI and MP3?
Ok I know that MIDI and MP3 are two different things. But I have a MP3 player that only takes MP3 and WMA formatted files. So I was wondering if there was a way to mod my MP3 player so that it takes MIDI files, or to convert MIDI to WMA.
MIDI and MP3?
It doesn't really give solution. But you can download MIDI converter from free-codecs.com. It can convert MIDI files to MP3.
Take a MIDI song FANFARE from Final Fantasy series as an example. I think that it contains at least trumpet, drums, and/or oboe. But if you convert it to MP3, the trumpet will be the only one that becomes playable.
There's hard way to covert MIDI to MP3...

I'm aware MP3 is like JPG files, i.e. lossy format.
If I have an MP3 without information on artist, album etc., and then I edit the MP3 to tag them in, thereafter saving it (in original frequency and bitrate), will my MP3 quality drop?
Will tagging MP3 reduce quality?
As long as you're only adding tags, and not re-encoding the MP3 the quality will not change.
Depending on the tags you add the filesize may increase ie Album Art, Lyrics, as this information will now be stored within the MP£3
Reply:sure
Reply:Yeah definately...especially when you're sellin it...you'll lose big bucks...if u tag ur mp3 player which costs around $300, you'll only get a sale amount of $50 or less...trust me, i tried it.
Reply:No it shouldn't.

Creative vPlus mp3 player and Motorola A/C adapter...please help me charge this!!?
I need to recharge the battery on my Creative V Plus mp3 player. The only thing that my Zen V plus mp3 player came with was a usb cable that attaches to a computer for recharging it. I am going on vacation soon, and I didn't want to lug around my laptop with me just to charge my mp3 player. I have a motorolla krzr cell phone. The A/C adapter also has a
usb 2.0 port to recharge it. Since the ports match, I was wondering if I could use the wall a/c adapter to charge my mp3 player without breaking it? It says that the voltage output on the A/C adapter is 5.0V-550mA. I contacted Creative Labs, and they wouldn't tell me what the maximum voltage that the player could handle. I don't know how to figure out how much power actually is converted from my computer to the device. Could anyone help me with this problem? Thank you!!
Creative vPlus mp3 player and Motorola A/C adapter...please help me charge this!!?
Your AC adapter is capable of furnishing 5 volts at 550 mA. This is more than enough for your mp3 player.
The USB specification provides a 5 V (volts) supply on a single wire from which connected USB devices may draw power. The specification provides for no more than 5.25 V and no less than 4.75 V (5 V±5%) between the positive and negative bus power lines. Initially, a device is only allowed to draw 100 mA. It may request more current from the upstream device in units of 2 mA up to a maximum of 500 mA.
The tolerances within the USB standard are rather tight, so you should be good to go.

Wma to mp3 conversion?
The 'wrinkly again' ...
I asked a question earlier about converting cd's to MP3 and storing the files on my hard disk.
Someone kindly gave me an answer ref using Windows Media Player and doing sonething called 'ripping'?. I have sadly some how lost that answer?? That should tell you a lot about my experience with computers??
But I have tried 'ripping' cd's via Windows Media Player and it converts them to WMA files and not MP3 - I need to convert my cd's to MP3 - or convert the WMA to MP3 so I can transfer to a mobile phone.
I would rather NOT transfer software from the internet as have had bad experiences doing this in the past. Is there nothing within Windows Vista that will do the job??

The MP4 player always support MP4, MP3 files. If you found the formats not fit, go to find a converter to help you.
Here I found a Digital Media Converter could remove DRM and convert many popular music and video files(WMV, WMA, M4V, WAV, MP3, etc.) in a good quality.

Downloading an MP3 from a URL?
So i'm pretty good with MP3 files, and i'm sure this is a simple question, but if i have a site, (Ex: www.coolsite.com/cool.mp3) and it plays the MP3 on Quicktime when I go to that Url, how would I download the MP3 onto my computer? Is there a converter for this or is it simpler than that even? Please help, and thanks.

you right click on the link and select "save target as"
Reply:Right-click on the link and select Save As. That should save the mp3 to whatever file you want to put it on.

Question on MP3 players?
I want to get my boyfriend an MP3 player for Christmas. The only problem is that he doesnt have a decent computer, and hes constantly having to reboot it. The only MP3 player I'm familiar with is the ipod, and everytime u want to put a new song on ur ipod, u have to download the song into the library and then hook up the ipod to the comp. and then its pretty muching clearing out the history in ur ipod and uploading all of the old songs plus the new ones into the MP3 player. This normally isnt a big deal, but since hes constantly rebooting the comp. he would have to keep redownloading the songs everytime this happens...... is there any MP3 player that isnt' like this??
thanks
Question on MP3 players?
get some kind of creative player if u want a cheap one get the zen vision v plus if u want a full featured one like an ipod video get the creative zen vision:m or the new zune
Reply:i'd look into the zune, although im not yet familiar with its software.
the ipod can be set to update manually, meaning your bf can add songs to the ipod himself, instead of it just updating based on whats in his itunes. thats how i do mine, anyways. also, if you set it to update manually, you can hook it up to other peoples itunes, and get music from them!
Reply:Why on earth is he having to continually reboot? Is he overheating his system? Tell him to take the side cover off his computer and stick a box fan up to it. heh.
Reply:ive had 2 mp3 players that are like that: gmini and the creative they each held about 3,000 songs.

Bringing an MP3 player into a steam room.?
OK I realize the heat and steam would outright kill my MP3 player in a steam room SO I was thinking about doing the following:
1.) Place the MP3 player in a water tight Ziplock Bag to keep out any excess moisture from contacting the player.
2.) Place the bag with the MP3 player in it into a very small Coleman Cooler and shutting the lid to keep the temperature from getting to high inside the cooler.
So far I have experimented with a crappy portable CD player. The player worked fine despite being in ONLY the plastic baggy and no cooler to protect it from the temperature increase. So far the player has survived three trips to the steam room unscathed. Is it time to try the expensive MP3 player in the cooler setup now?

You might try it but do it at your own risk. If you bust your MP3 player I will not be responsible. You should use the second option.

Ipods and MP3's in your car?
I got an Alpine brand car stereo for christmas. My parents thought it had an Mp3 hook up, instead it has an iPod hook up. I don't own an iPod, I own an Mp3 player, and was wondering if there are places that sell adapters so you can hook up your Mp3 player to my car stereo. I know the zune has a type like that, but again, I don't own a zune. My Mp3 player looks like a jump drive, so it has no cables that I hook up to my computer when uploading music. Do I just need to go buy a new car stereo?

first which alpine unit is it and it should have a usb adapter in the back of the radio so ur flash drive mp3 should plug right into it
Reply:I found the best thing since sliced bread...http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9oDEWuNVIo6...
It's not wireless so there's no interference. Not to be confused with an FM transmitter. Basically it adds an AUX input to ANY radio. No searching for a clean channel.
It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. It comes with an On/Off switch.
This is the answer. Totally versatile.

A new mp3 player?
Okay.. Well, I need a new mp3 player, because the USB cord for my old mp3 is now busted. I need an mp3 player that is compatible with either Windows 2000 or Windows Me Millenium (yeah i know, crappy), and that can play videos (if possible)... I was looking at the MPIO 4GB Titan MP3 Player (ML100), but most people said they've had problems with it. If not, i'll look at Windows XP software to buy, because I do have an iPod- I just need a new computer- which is way too pricey. Any suggestions?

hi
Reply:Why not just buy a new USB cable? USB cables are cheap.
Anyways, I know you probably don't want me to say an iPod, but look, you get what you pay for. If you start buying cheap MP3 players, they're going to break like your old one, or be difficult to use. Save yourself the trouble and get an iPod.

Creative Zen MP3 player snycing question please.?
I recently purchased a Creative Zen 4 GB MP3 player, and I love it so far, but I am having problems with syncing, I could be doing it wrong, I am not sure this is the first MP3 player I have owned.
Whenever I download new music, I add it to the playlist I want it to be on, and re-sync it to the mp3 player, sometimes it syncs with no problem, but today I downloaded 2 new songs to my second playlist, and it tried re-syncing the whole playlist again, eventually I was left with 3 mb of free memory (from 800 mb before I sync'd 2 4 mb songs...). Is there another way I should go around syncing one or two songs to my mp3 player? I still would want them to be in the playlists, I just dont want the player to keep putting the SAME songs on. Thanks

Unable to record and save mp3 thru stereo mix record settings?
Hi,
I've been facing a problem lately while recording audio and saving it as mp3 files. I use creative mediasource player and its mp3 plugin to record and save the audio as mp3. Earlier I would set the recording source to 'stereo mix' and play the music and press the record button to record it. After stopping the recording i was automatically prompted to save the file. Nowadays, when i follow the same process, i get a small file of 4-5kb in size saved as an mp3. On playing this file, there is no audio to be heard. It appears as if there's no audio data in this mp3 file at all.
I'm surprised as to why am i not able to save the audio as mp3/wav/wma format even after recording the audio thru stereo mix thru creative's mediasource software. I was able to do this successfully earlier. I dont know what has changed since then that the recording doesnt work.
Using stereo mix to record thru 'audacity' works very well though.
Eagerly awaiting your kind and helpful replies.
Thanks.

So why not just use it w/ Audacity then?
It's very simple and you seem to not have any problems w/ it...
I know I didn't help much but I believe that Audacity is the solution.

Sony Ericsson w610i or MP3 Player?
Ok I have a Sony ericsson w610i walkman phone and an mp3 player (this one: http://ivory.vnunet.com/images/hardware/... ) My problem is that I don't know what to use to listen to my music, which sound quality is better on w610i or my mp3 player. I have same headphones for both. I listen to music practically all the time, the problem when I use the mp3 player is that a lot of the times I do not feel/hear my phone ring plus my mp3 player dont have features like album art colour screen and making own playlist. The problem with listening music on my phone is that the battery goes low quickly and I THINK the sound quality is worser (after 6h comparing to my mp3 player 28h) I dont know which use to listen to music.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?? PLEASE HELP WHICH TO CHOSE?!!
Sony Ericsson w610i or MP3 Player?
w610i is way better, i have one and it is GREAT. Definitely chooce the sony ericsson. If your battery life is always low.. go to www.sonystyle.com and look for a larger battery model then yours.
Reply:The earphones supplied with Sony Ericsson's produce great quality, although the earphones do break very easily.
Ii use the mp3 player on my phone and it is brilliant, especially when the equaliser is set to Extra bass.
Although you have a very good MP3 player, i would probably use the MP3 player to put all my songs on and then put some on my phone too therefore you are making the most of both of them by using both of them for all your songs.
Hope this helped

I Need help with SanDisk MP3 player!??!?!?
I just bought a SanDisk Sansa C250 2GB MP3 Player. This mp3 player is only chargeable through usb, and I want to buy and AC to USB adapter. I bought this mp3 player to save me money, so I dont want to spend a lot of money on the adapter. I found this one on ebay..... http://cgi.ebay.com/AC-Power-Change-to-U...
It says it is used for ipod and mp3, so will this work with my mp3 player???If not, does anyone know any similar products that will?
Thanks

That is the correct charger for your Sansa. Good price, too.
I'm listening to my Sansa right now.
Reply:As i have the C240 I can tell You that Sansa Mp3 players are proprietary and you need to go to Sandisk for the accessories. Most of the Sansa Line can share accessories.

Sandisk view MP3 player, how do I erase the ripped and downloaded songs from my pc hardrive?
I can download music, and rip bought and burned CD's onto my laptop hardrive. I can transfer them to my Sandisk view MP3 player. After they sync and go onto the MP3 player, I delete the songs from my windows media player and my laptop hardrive. However when I put more songs into WMP and start to sync them to the sandisk, the ones I previously added to the sandisk get erased straight from the MP3 player. I dont wanna keep a thousand plus songs on my PC hardrive, is there a way to keep them on my MP3 player but delete from my PC and not lose the songs because I sync new ones into it?
Sandisk view MP3 player, how do I erase the ripped and downloaded songs from my pc hardrive?
When you connect your player to your computer, it will create a disk drive where you can see the files on the device. Use the windows explorer to drag and drop your mp3s into the appropriate folder manually. If you hold down the shift key the files will be moved instead of copied, saving you the step of deleting the files afterward.

About my mp3 player again the device said on the computor said that the muisc is going into the mp3 player but
It may be the format the music is in. Some mp3 players can play audio in any format but others require you to convert them. If u are using wma format u may need to sync with windows media player. Try converting the music to a different format using an audio converter. Just google "free audio converter".

Is the mp3 player on the motorazr V3m easy to use?
I'm planning on buying the Red Motorazr V3m from U.S. Cellular. I was talking to the sales rep guy about the Motokrzr K1 phone with the mp3 player. But I don't really like the krzr b/c the screen is not as big as the razr and it feels 10x more delicate than the razr and I'm afraid I'll drop it(since the front is like all glass). The guy told me that the Red V3m has mp3 capability it just doesn't have the external mp3 controls. Is the mp3 player easy to use on the Red Motorazr V3m? He also mentioned that I'd would have to buy a microSD memory card for storing music and photos...how much do those cost?
Is the mp3 player on the motorazr V3m easy to use?
It is hard to get all the equipment but after that it is very easy. i should know, i have a RAZR V3m too w/ music.

ITunes song download to mp3?
I downloaded a couple songs from iTunes. I put them on my samsung mp3 player, but they won't play. When I look at the icons on the computer it says they are on my mp3 player. The picture icon next to the song has a little picture of a lock on it. Can I unlock the songs so I can hear them on my mp3 player. I was able to click on iTunes burn all songs downloaded to a cd, so I was able to listen to them on that. But I want them on mp3 for the gym? What do I do to hear songs from iTunes on my mp3?
ITunes song download to mp3?
Music bought on iTunes use the AAC format and are DRM protected -- which means that you can only plan the song on your computer, or on your iPod -- it will not work with any other MP3 player.
You can bypass the DRM by burning the music to a CD, and then using itunes to rip the music using MP3 format.
Once the song is re-ripped from the CD into MP3 format, you will be able to use it with any 3rd party MP3 player (not just iPods)
good luck.

I need help with an mp3 player!?
My brother has the Sansa Sandisk m240 Mp3 player. Awhile ago, a lot of rhapsody subscribtion songs were added onto the player, and after a while it said to "Sync" the tracks.. and since then, he never has and the songs that were put on the mp3 player were deleted from the Rhapsody library. Ok, so now, I go into Rhapsody to try and delete the songs that are on the mp3 player, and they dont show up when you click on the device icon in Rhapsody. They dont show up at all, even though there still on the mp3 player.
So, can anyone help me and tell me how I can either veiw all the tracks on the mp3 player, so i can delete them, Or can you tell me how to wipe out alll the songs and everything on the mp3 player. (I've already tried directly looking at the folders on the players hard drive and nothing comes up)
PLEASE HELP!!!!
I need help with an mp3 player!?
Do your self a favor, Stay away from Rhapsody.
to whip out all songs you can format the player.
To get rid of Rhapsody do this =
How to get rid of the "synchronize to continue music subscription" message if it just appears out of nowhere on your player
delete the STORE.HDS file in the system/wmdrmpd directory of your sansa (optional)
import your protected songs into WMP, and resync your protected music (with WMP) in MTP mode
play a protected song and let it rebuild the store.hds file (you will experience severe lag for about 15 seconds as it rebuilds) and the music should play.
to format go here = http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.as...
Or here =
To format = Plug in your mp3* Go to start* Go to my computer* Right click you mp3 and choose format* save music/video to your PC before formatting*
Reply:go to where you bought it and ask for help

Convert to mp3?
I have an Itunes accoutn because my kids both have Ipods. We buy a LOT of music from the music store. I have a Mp3 player that has to use Windows Media Player to load its music. Here is my dilemma...
When I buy music at Itunes, it saves it in a format other than mp3. I need the mp3 format to use on my player.
How do I convert from the itunes format to mp3?
Convert to mp3?
try this, I have always converted songs with this program, and it should work for you , hope this helps!
Reply:WMP has a conversion download, I have been able to use my kids itunes for mp3 format, I think there is a conversion in that program also.
Reply:The reason I dont buy music from itunes is for this very reason.
You wont be happy to hear this, but I'm not aware of a program that will convert the protected ACC files you download from itunes, to anything else.
Its because Apple doesnt want you to be able to take their songs and use them with Microsoft products. Sorry man.

Please explain how to use an MP3?
I want to listen to some cds from my local library. I’ve saved them onto my PC. I’ve just bought an MP3 player so I can transfer them from my PC on to the MP3. Now, I’ve never owned or used an MP3 before so I don’t know how to do this.
The MP3 came in a box with just 3 other items: a battery, a pair of headphones on a lead, and something that looks like an extension cable.
The extension cable doesn’t fit into the MP3.
The headphones do.
There’s still a spare rectangular hole at the end of the MP3 when the headphones are in.
Obviously I don’t know what the hell I’m doing here…how do I use an MP3?
Do I need to buy something else to go in the end of it?
Hopefully over the weekend I’ll be able to find a neighbour to help me but in the meantime…HELP!!!
And yes the instructions are useless!
Thanks…
Please explain how to use an MP3?
Well if the MP3 player came with a CD I would recommend installing the applications onto your computer and using those to load the music. If it did not come with a CD, an MP3 Player is essentially the same thing as a USB drive, or a external hard drive. What you need to do is plug whatever cable came with it in your computer's USB port and then plug the other side into the connection that corresponds to it. If I had a model number or specific MP3 Player I'd be able to describe it more accurately, but for now this the best one can do without a description. Second, once you have plugged it into your computer and your computer recognized the device, navigate to the My Computer icon, and the look under Devices with Removable Storage, you should have something that is described as a Removable Disk. Next, open that up and place the MP3's in whatever folder is located in there, and if there is a Music folder, place it in there. Goodluck I hope this was of help!

Reply:What type of mp3 is it? you could have listened to those cds that you saved from your computer.
Transfer the song from your computer to the mp3 player by plugging the extension cable in the comp and the mp3 plyr. and u can listen to the songs from the mp3 plyr by using ur headphone.
Reply:mp3 players come with a simple basic kit.The mp3 player itself,a battery if uses aa or aaa(most new player have a rechargeable lithium battery built in,)headphones, a computer interface cable, and software.
your first step is to plug your mp3 player into the interface cable and plug the cable into your computer(it should plug into a standard USB port) check your computer maunalto find where they are on your laptop or desktop. Now insert the software cd in and install the basic program, it should install the drivers for the unit and software for organzing your mp3 tracks and ripping software for converting your cd 's into mp3's
You may want to starting convreting a few cd tacks to mp3's and tranfer them to your player. The computer interface cable may also act as a charger if your mp3 player has a rechargable battery.Make sure your player is full charged. If you still have problem got to the manufacturers web site, there should be a support section for frequently asked questions

Please someone help me(MP3 Converting Question). I need to know hat I'm doing wrong in converting my MP3 files
I am making a CD for one of my friends, and I'm making the CD-R with nothing but MP3s. I added the MP3 files in a Maxell CD-R. And I have tried to convert the MP3 files to WAV. and WMA but none of them play in any of my CD players. People say that burning them with Windows Media Player automatically converts MP3 files to regualr files so they can play in just about any Cd player. But that doesnt work. I have tried alot of coverters and none of them work. My last hope was Power to go but that did'nt work either. I am trying to get my MP3 files to play in any CD player. Please someone help me or tell me what I am doing wrong or what software to use. Please:)

I use Roxio for all my converting and burning needs. I just tried using it to convert mp3's and wma's to wav and it worked just fine. If you can, use that. And thank you for the idea of putting mp3's on a cd so I can listen to them on my cd player. You get a star.

My Samsung MP3 Player needs help!?
My Samsung player's model is YP-Z5F and when I connect it to my computer, it doesn't get noticed by the computer. This means that even though it says it's being charged on my MP3 Player, it actually isn't.
I also can't send files to my MP3 because it is not detected by the Samsung Media Studio too. Please help! Is it because of my cable or my MP3?
I tried resetting the MP3 and everything on the help manual and it still does not word. Help!
Thanks. (:
My Samsung MP3 Player needs help!?
go to http://www.samsung.com/support/index.asp... type in the model number and download the most current driver. when you install it, it should overwrite the old one.
if the mp3 player works, you just can't get it connected to the computer, then it's like you said, it's either the driver or the cable. it's more likely that it's the driver, so follow the steps above.
I have a YP-55 and I had to re-install the driver before.
Reply:try to reinstall first you have to un-install and then reinstall. sounds complicated BUT your smart I know you can do it.
Reply:Maybe something wrong with usb cable.
Reply:try to test your cable to other units if by chance you know some1 who uses d same cable as yours. if it works, you might have a hardware problem. like your usb port in mp3 has malfunctioned,it mught have been disconnected to d board of your unit, your cable maybe replaced, or if not...you myt need to reinstall your driver... goodluck!!!
Reply:try reinstalling the driver
Reply:i would take it back to where you bought it and send it back to manufacturer

Putting MP3 files into I-Tunes...?
Hi,
I've got lots of mp3 files that I want to put into i-tunes, so I can put them onto my i-pod. I have copied them onto cd's in mp3 format, but unlike when an audio cd is placed into my computer, i-tunes doesnot prompt to import the mp3 files. Is there a way of doing this? Also, I want to be able to import these files in specific order, such as all mp3's by a certain group together.
Any ideas?
Putting MP3 files into I-Tunes...?
I assume that you're using Windows. If you just want to put them onto your iPod, you don't need to put them into iTunes at all. All you have to do is connect your iPod, select it in iTunes, and then open an explorer window on the CD that has the files on it (double-click My Computer, then the CD drive). Just drag the files that you want onto your iPod in the iTunes window, and it will copy them over.
The iPod will automatically group the mp3's by artist and album if the files are tagged. A tag is just a little bit of data that is added to the "front" of an mp3 file. You can tag your files using iTunes, but you can't change the files that are on your CD's, obviously.
So, you'll need to copy them to your hard drive first, and then import them into iTunes. You can import them by dragging them onto the library portion of the iTunes window, and then tag them by selecting them, right-clicking, and choosing "Get info". You can set the artist and album for more than one track at a time, if you want to. You can also tag them after you've copied them to your iPod by selecting them in iTunes under iPod-%26gt;Music.
If you don't want to tag your files (that is, if they aren't already tagged and you want to leave them on the CD), then you can group them using playlists. Right-click your iPod in iTunes and say "New playlist", and call it whatever you like. Then select your new playlist, and drag them over from the explorer window in whatever order you want. When you want to hear those tracks in that order, just select the playlist on your iPod and play it.
Hope this helps! You can read about mp3 tags, and other software that will create the tags for you, on Wikipedia (link below).
Reply:iTunes only take MP4 files.
Reply:Sorry, absolutely no idea but you had better not bugger this up as I believe there is alot of music you have that your wife is expecting to have on the i-pod from recent downloads so if you don't manage to get them sorted, on your head be it for the consequences.
Reply:Open iTunes. Insert Music CD. Select import in the iTunes menu. It should give you the Music CD as a choice. Select it. I think this is all you need to do. If it doesn't work, maybe read the manual or check the iTunes help site?

Mp3 Problems???
i have an mp3 player that has a 1GB memory, and i used up 630MB of it, it still has extra space, but the problem is, i cannot copy any more songs to it, is there a problem when this happens?
(P.S.)when i copy songs to my mp3 player, a pop-up appears and says that it cannot copy the song to the mp3 player.
Mp3 Problems???
try syncing songs with windows media player or get rid of some unwanted songs.

Mp3 Write Protection?
Okay...so i just got an mp3 player for my birthday as a temporary music player until i can get a video ipod.
well, i've spent hours on end copying all of my itunes library to cd's to take off the write protection, and then move them to windows media player, where i then took more hours to rename every song and get them all into a playlist for my mp3 player.
well, i finally got all that done, and i went to go sync the mp3 player, and even after burning them onto cd's, they were still write protected, so i went and tried to change the properties and uncheck the "read only" box, but it kept rechecking itsself, and i can't get it to take off the protection.
any idea how to help?
thanks a bunch.
Mp3 Write Protection?
The easiest way for protected files is to find a converter to help you remove protected. Then you can use the files as you want.
Here I found a Digital Music Converter could remove protected and convert all popular music file in a good quality.
Free download to have a try:
http://www.wmatomp3-converter.com/digita...
Also I find a guide to tell you how to remove DRM protected.
http://remove-drm.tumblr.com/
If you still have question, you can e-mail me or use yahoo to search for more answers http://answers.yahoo.com
Reply:okay.
do you get your music from CD's or just mp3's you've downloaded?
doesnt matter
download a wma-mp3 converter and convert all your files to mp3, even if they are already an mp3. this will remove the write protection. this may take a while but it will be worth it. Store all your files in a folder and bam whack them onto your mp3 player.
some good wma-mp3 converters are 'power converter' and 'super' both are free you just have to poke around Google to find them. or yahoo. but yahoo = lol.

MP3 speakers that don't require an IPOD?
I want to buy and MP3 player and play the songs in my living room. I can't seem to find any speakers that plug in any other MP3 player but IPOD. I don't want to have to use the IPOD or itunes. Any suggestions? I need to buy both the speakers and the mp3 player.

go to Marshell's or TJ Maxx, they sometimes have cheap speakers for iPod AND MP3 Players. They're like 10 to 15 dollars and they have nicer ones for like $20 and up

I own a Dell Jukebox mp3 player that is almost three years old. I recently had to reinstall the operating system on my computer and now must reinstall my mp3 player. However, I have the lost the software that came with the mp3 player. I have called Dell and they want to charge me a high price for it. Is there another alternative?

i don't know much about that brand or product but maybe you could try downloading the software from Limewire or another similar dowloading source, or if you know someone else with the same mp3 player who has the software.

MP3 or WMA?
Which format can an MP3 cd hold more of? I made one with mp3 format and it has like 75 rap songs and 60 r%26amp;b. would i be able to fit more music if it were WMA format? Basically, which is a smaller file?
The cd player in my car can play both WMA and MP3 files.
MP3 or WMA?
You have to remember that WMA and AAC files give you better sound quality, but mp3 files are smaller so you can fit more. And remember to lower the bit rate to standard like 128 bits. But that will give you less than superoir sound quality, but if you want more storage, then that's the way to go. Otherwise, I would just get a new mp3 player. I mean, even a 4 gig mp3 player can hold about 1,000 songs.
Reply:Use mp3. It has the biggest compression and the quality is great too! Almost every player has no problem with mp3. With wma, you'll have problems on some players.

Mp3 player question?
I use WMP to sync songs to my Mp3 player, after i sync the songs I unplug it from the adapter. Now directally after i unplug it the screen on the Mp3 player says "creating library-please wait". Every time I sync the Mp3 player takes longer and longer to create the library. Its not that this is a inconviniance of any sort, its just that it makes me wonder, why is it doing this and may this be a sign of something wrong with it? Yea, so basically all i want to know is, is this normal and if its not what may be the problem?
Mp3 player question?
mostly because of the fact you put a large amount of music/videos/pictures on it, then from the last time and it rebuilds it and makes sure there's no errors

MP3 CD skipping?
I've burned a few albums onto an mp3 CD to play in my car stereo. One of the albums skips. It sounds the same as a scratched CD. Is this something that happened when I ripped the original mp3 or is the CD I made scratched? Can an MP3 track on a scratched data CD skip the same way a regular audio CD would or would it just result in unreadable data and not play anything.
MP3 CD skipping?
Try to reburn the cd. It might be damaged or scratched and yes it can get scratched just like a regular CD or DVD. If that doesn't try it in another car that can play MP3 cd's and if it works without skipping in there it could be a problem with your cd player.

I am unfamiliar with the samsung software but there are generally 2 ways to port music to a player either you open My Computer and find the drive (usually f) and click and drag the music to your player which is generally more common on devices under 2 gig or your player might have a sync option in which case you would connect your player click on the software icon on your desktop that came with your player and it would read your music already on your comp and synchronize it to your player

MP3 vs MP4 - which is the better deal??
Not to experienced with this, so I need some help.
MP3 Player:
The player supports MP3, WMA audio file formats and features a built-in microphone for voice recording, plus a digital equalizer with 6 presets.
Blue backlight display makes it easy to see lyrics and song titles.
Store approximately 255 songs on the 1 GB player (actual numbers will vary based on length of song and the level of compression).
includes stereo headphones and requires one "AAA" battery.
The docking station (11" x 8-1/2" x 2-3/4") has built-in speakers and includes a remote control, AC/DC power supply, USB cable, installation software and owner's manual.
The MP4 Player:
It stores over 250 songs, or shows videos on a 1.8" LCD color screen, plus you can listen to the FM radio.
Features 1GB of memory and a digital voice recorder and supports video/audio formats, including MP3
Includes a rechargeable lithium battery and silver headphones.
MP3 vs MP4 - which is the better deal??
I wouldn't get an mp4.Ive heard of too many people who have had problems with them. The way i see it is,the more components and the more complicated it is....the more likely it is to go wrong!
Reply:You could get a colour screen, lithium battery, high-memory, video-playing MP3 player if you want. Check the Creative Zen collection.
Reply:MP4 is good enough for me.
Reply:I've always been wary of MP4 players. I'd go for a good name band MP3 player.

I am familiar with this. The hardware of the iPod which is manifactured by Hewlett-Packard is better than the mp3 players of the past.Wheras, people make silly mistakes by just blindly buying it.The software which is made by Apple Computer is horrible. It expands the memory of songs which reduces the amount of storage on your iPod.If the song is only 4mb iTunes makes it 7mb or 10mb.I burned a cd usind iTunes on my mp3discman and i got only 20 songs-where each song was 35mb!!!! That is why the iPods are 30GB,8gb4gb.
I advice your parents to buy the SONY Walkman-Digital Music player which ranges between 512mb to 10GB(depending on your choice).I have the 512mb one where i can listen to the radio, store upto 340 songs and use 30mb space on it for my school work as it is a USB drive too.Not to forget it has a electrolumiscent screen where i would say the iPod is better as the mp3 player has a small one and the ipod has a big one with color.

Reply:Can't you just use windows media player to put cds on it and then buy from like napster or something?
Reply:No matter which MP3 player you get you will be able to find software for importing CD's and also online stores willing to sell you music.
Personally I think Apple has the best software and the biggest range of music because it is the most popular. But check out the market...
I know you didn't ask for a brand war... but SanDisk and Creative offer decent alternatives.
If you look at the Microsoft Zune's software as an iPod user you will probably notice instantly that it is just a copy of the iTunes software. But hey... it offers software and a music store if you find it to be the better player for your usage.
Another thing... Microsoft had an old store called PlayForSure which a number of MP3 players supported purchased songs from. The Zune cannot play this music and the store is gone, so don't buy a player that uses PlayForSure!
Reply:With most MP3s, they simply appear in 'My Computer' as a mass storage device, and you can copy and paste MP3 files to them without the need for specialist software. It also makes it dead simple to transfer music from Limewire, where of course it is free.
I've always found this prefereable to iPods, which has pointlessly complicated software.

MP3 players: MP3 or WMA ?
I just got a new car with an MP3 capable cd deck. I want to burn some cd's to take advantage of this capability. I especially like the fact that I can fit a large number of songs on the cd.
The cd player documentation states that MP3 and WMA files are supported. In order to choose the best format my criteria is that I want the best sound quality and the most songs on a cd.
Any advice as to which format to choose in order to satisfy my criteria?
Thanks in advance for your advice/comments!
MP3 players: MP3 or WMA ?
MP3 is more widely used so definitely get MP3 although WMA does have slightly better sound quality because it is a newer form of compression.
Reply:The MP3 and WMA formats are not that different, except WMA is much newer and better optimized. A WMA file using a 96KB bit rate sounds about the same as a MP3 using a 128KB bit rate. What this means is that you get the same sound with a smaller file.
People who are suggesting that MP3s are smaller are most likely confusing WMAs with WAVs???
Reply:MP3 and WMA are both well known formats, however MP3 has a slightly better sound quality.
Reply:MP3 ALL the way, it has a better and more richer sound and quality, it can be stored in smaller megabytes too, plus it's more commonly used in other applications beside your car, so you can use the cd elsewear too
Reply:If you make mp3 from your cds.you have to rip the music at a high rate.so it sounds clear. if you rip them at a low rate music will sound like crap.also depends what you use to make the mp3 with.I use jetaudio. its easy to use.and has alot of features to make your music sound great.
Reply:This is my opinion from listening to both formats over and over again using the same song and equal bit-rates and similar sizes:
I noticed that WMA files have slightly more clarity than it's MP3 counter part. I was mainly listening to cymbals and other high-pitched sounds during comparison.
Reply:mp3 is the best format for music on a car you can actually hear the sound difference between mp3 and wma

Can MP3 files contain viruses and other bad stuff?
I have always assumed that MP3 files are generally virus free.
I've never had any problems with stuff like MP3s or movie files I've obtained via P2P file sharing programs.
Recently I've been swapping a lot of Mp3 files with people via Bulletin Board Forums. I was wondering if anyone has heard of viruses being transmitted via MP3.
Naturally I'm suspicious of .exe files but is it possible that a malicious executable file could be hidden in / disguised as an MP3?
Would most anti-virus software like AVG, or Nortons automatically screen the file before the attachment opens, or should I dowload the file and manually direct a scan of each file first?
Can MP3 files contain viruses and other bad stuff?
There are no viruses to infect MP3 audio files. There is one widespread fake warning on such virus in circulation. MP3 are not self executable files nor, they can they contain any scripting. Such files like .mp3 .dat .txt cannot contain virus. Or even if it has the virus signature, the code cannot be activated. People who say that mp3 can contain virus or infect your system are just ignorant, who prefer to give advice without knowing about it.
People who get infected by virus (who claim that they got infected by mp3, are usually victims of exploits). There are no worms or virus till date which can use mp3 files as host to infect systems.

Reply:Most ppl dont know it, but yes, they can contain virus'......
They can also appear as an MP3, but not actually be one. MOST software can detect it, but not all, and not always.....
Good luck.........I have the same worries with my ipod and other mp3 devices I have.
HELLO Maurice........sorry, you are incorrect that they cannot.....They infact CAN....Sony music corp was recently sued for a copy protection software (which ended up being a "virus" of sorts) that would render the cd drive and or computer INOPERABLE after xxx number of uses when burned
Reply:No, but files with the extension MP3 which are actually .EXE files will run and put all kinds of bad things on your computer. KNOW WHERE THE FILE COMES FROM.
Reply:you can get viruses via mp3's..yeah!
Be careful who your source is...stop sharing/swapping and buy from a secure sight. Or at minimum scan each file.
Reply:Yes they can, and you should always run a manual scan with all your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.
Always run a full system scan at least once a week to check for viruses and spyware
Reply:if you already have an antivirus on your pc, then you should problem no more... because if it detected a virus, it will automatically pop-up..... and besides, mp3's RARELY contain a virus.
Reply:yes theycan just make sure you have a good virus scanner and you shouls be ok!
Reply:no, unless someone has done something like songname.mp3.exe, most things (like windows explorer) will hide file extensions and make it look like songname.mp3, other than that no
